Rebecca Brown, MSW, RSW - a CHA Director
Rebecca Brown has a Masters Degree in Social Work and a career spanning more than 30 years within the medical, child protection and trauma fields. Rebecca is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Western University (London, Ontario) and delivers workshops and conferences throughout North America on the topics of Vicarious Trauma, PTSD, Compassion Fatigue and Resilience to First Responders and professionals in the trauma and health fields. With a life-long passion for horses, Rebecca has extended her therapeutic practice to include Equine Assisted Therapy incorporating horses as part of her treatment team. With certification through EAGALA, Rebecca co-founded and runs three Equine Assisted Therapy programs in Southwestern Ontario. When Rebecca was finally able to purchase her own horse, she chose a Haflinger. In 2017 Rebecca bought Dolly, with the advice of an experienced equine specialist and friend who knew this was the right horse for her personally and professionally.
I am honoured to be part of the Haflinger Association, as I have the utmost respect for this breed, and am committed to ensure that the breed is respected and cared for in a way that truly helps them to shine in multiple areas.
